Accounting (BS)

The Bachelor's degree in Accounting is designed to prepare the graduate for entry into positions with public accounting firms and similarly challenging positions with private, government, and nonprofit organizations. The objectives of the major are to provide the graduate with an understanding of business and financial concepts and how they relate to professional accounting — including the principles of federal taxation, auditing, and accounting for small businesses and corporations.

Accounting - Forensic Accounting (BS)

The Bachelor's degree in Accounting with Forensic Accounting emphasis is designed to prepare the graduate for entry into positions with public accounting firms and similarly challenging positions with private, government, and nonprofit organizations, including work with legal counsel and private investigators. The Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and Accounting with Event Planning Emphasis helps prepare students for employment in a variety of settings, including hotels, resorts, cruise lines, convention centers, nonprofit organizations, corporate venues, and municipal agencies. Objectives of the program are as follows: providing the student with an integrated understanding of business and economic concepts and how these concepts relate to business and social systems; the recognition of ethical responsibilities and accountability; the development of planning, decision-making, and other management functions; the capacity to implement and adapt to change; and development of analytic thinking and leadership style. Topics presented focus on working with the client to establish goals and objectives, select the most appropriate site, prepare pre-event publicity and marketing, determine audio-visual requirements, manage food and beverage selections and cost, produce a budget, and negotiate contracts.

The Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and Accounting with Retail Sales Management Emphasis helps prepare students to enter the world of retailing and sales in entry- to midlevel positions as bookkeepers, clerical assistants, and personal property professionals. Topics covered in the retail-sales emphasis courses include the changing nature of the retail environment, successful selling strategies, customer-service competency, and an introduction to the basic human resource functions as they relate to the retail sales professional. The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration is designed to provide healthcare practitioners and others with the skills and competencies to function as supervisors and managers in healthcare settings, or in a business environment requiring management skills. Medical Specialties (AOS)

An Occupational Associate's Degree in Medical Specialties offers diverse clinical and administrative courses, allowing graduates to consider a variety of entry-level healthcare employment opportunities. Medical Specialists are in great demand in doctors' offices, hospitals, laboratories, and health centers in all geographic areas. You will have many opportunities as a Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Lab Assistant, EKG Technician, or Phlebotomist. You may decide to work for a surgeon, pediatrician, or general practitioner in a private office, hospital, or diagnostic laboratory. Pharmacy Technicians work in hospitals and retail pharmacies assisting pharmacists. Pharmacy Technicians have expertise in drugs and dosages, ordering, receiving, stocking, dispensing, calculating, and pricing. Computer skills are also necessary, and they are an integral part of our training program.

Networking and Information Systems Security (BS)

The Bachelor of Science in Networking and Information Systems Security is designed to graduate a professional whose diverse practical and theoretical knowledge will guide the future of networking and information systems security in business and industry. Objectives of the program are to ensure competencies at complex levels of computer information systems operations, administration and management including; networking, database management, client interface, information security, and information protection. Graduates are employed in entry-level to mid-level positions as network administrators, project managers, systems analysts, security expert and entrepreneurs.

Software and Mobile Application Development (BS)

The Bachelor's degree program in Software and Mobile Applications Development prepares graduates to gain the skills necessary to succeed in the field of developing desktop, web, and mobile applications, using several programming languages, and using the systems development life cycle. Students learn to develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs, analyze user needs and develop software solutions, and design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency and user experience. Graduates will also be able to analyze and design databases, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team, and supervise computer programmers.

Web Design and Development (BS)

The Bachelor of Science in Web Design and Development program is designed to help students qualify for entry- and mid-level positions in Web design, mobile application design, e-learning, information design, consumer electronics development, and human/computer interaction (HCI) technologies. The objective of the program is to give students the skills needed to produce Web applications, interactive presentations, mobile applications, and user interfaces in a growing diversity of consumer electronics by emphasizing both front and back-end development. Students are required to conceptualize, code, and publish their own standards-based content for a variety of formats while working with the multiple languages used in interactive design.
