Depending on where you live, the role of a pharmacy technician will vary. But for the sake of this article, let's take a moment to briefly discuss what one is. Basically, a pharmacy technician is someone who is full qualified and is designed to help a pharmacist on a day-to-day basis. Once you have completed all of the necessary training and received your certification, you will have the opportunity to become involved in pharmacies and their practices. This allows you to gain experience which is useful when moving up in this industry. As a pharmacy technician, you may end up filling prescriptions on a daily basis. However, until you've receive a sufficient amount of experience, you wouldn't be able to inform patients on how well suited they are for a specific medication. You also wouldn't have the authorization to provide advice on whether or not a certain medication is compatible with another. For example, let's pretend that someone walks into your pharmacy and asks you whether or not they can take aspirin while on high blood pressure medication. You wouldn't be allowed to answer this and would need to refer to your pharmacist.
