Basically, this is someone who would be required to have top-notch communication skills and the ability to make people perceive certain events differently. Public relations offers would be in charge of maintaining the image of their client. While this may sound like a simple job, the truth is that this career is very challenging and carries a lot of responsibility. A public relations specialist is someone whose job description matches that of a public relations officer very closely. The only difference between a specialist and an officer is that the first is responsible for encouraging an audience to perceive a client a certain way. Basically, you would be taking a more proactive approach towards maintaining their positive public image. While it isn't always the case, public relations specialists usually represent larger companies and corporations (especially those who pride themselves on keeping a certain image). Clients and companies may not have a clear understanding about how the public perceives them so it is your job to advise them to act a certain way. A public relations representative must be able to control the behaviors and actions of a client and prevent them from doing anything which would hinder their image.
